Battery Recycling Program
Richard Ehrlich
Used household batteries can be toxic, and cannot be discarded as regular waste. The best solution is to use rechargeable batteries, but all depleted batteries can be recycled.
Caledon has a unique household battery recycling program, where citizens can drop off all types of household batteries at participating retailers for proper recycling.
The used batteries are picked up by The Battery Broker and sent to various facilities for full recycling.
To date over 24,000 kg. of batteries have been recycled.
Battery recycling bins are location at:
- Canadian Tire – Bolton
- The Source – Bolton
- Bernie’s Pro Hardware – Caledon East
- Cheltenham General Store
